The government in Ukraine has been reshuffled, and it is now headed by former Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.


The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Yulia Svyrydenko as the new Prime Minister. The Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, became the First Deputy Prime Minister and Denys Shmyhal was appointed Minister of Defense. The department will also oversee strategic industries, so the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industry, Herman Smetanin, will lead Ukroboronprom following the department’s liquidation. The Ministries of Economy, Ecology, and Agriculture were merged into one department, led by Oleksiy Sobolev, who was Svirydenko’s first deputy at the Ministry of Economy. Taras Kachka was appointed Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, replacing Olga Stefanishyna. The president also appointed Ms. Stefanishyna as the special representative for developing cooperation with the US. She will serve in this role while her candidacy for Ukrainian ambassador to the United States is under review. The Ministry of Social Policy was renamed the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity. The merged agency is now headed by Denys Ulyutin, First Deputy Minister of Finance. The Ministry of Energy is now led by Svitlana Hrynchuk, who previously headed the Ministry of Ecology, replacing Herman Galushchenko. Meanwhile, Galushchenko was appointed Minister of Justice.
