The G7 and NATO promise to strengthen Ukrainian air defense, Scholz is convinced that NATO will provide seven more Patriots.
A joint communique from the heads of foreign affairs of the G7 countries and the head of the EU diplomacy states: “We are increasing our defense and security assistance to Ukraine and increasing our production capabilities to further assist.”
At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO assessed the capabilities available in the Alliance member countries and established that there are weapon systems that can soon be transferred to Ukraine. He added that in addition to the American Patriot systems, there are also other types of weapons that the allies can transfer, including the French SAMP/T.
For his part, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that NATO countries can provide Ukraine with seven more Patriot air defense systems, one of which will be transferred to Germany in addition to the two already transferred.
