The freezing of US foreign aid: Ukraine will hold consultations on the resumption of assistance.
President Zelenskyy instructed the government to prepare a report on suspended American support programs.
“We will determine which of them are critical. We can provide some of the funding with our own finances, and we will discuss the rest with the Europeans and Americans,” Zelensky added.
He specified that this concerns many areas – from communications and digitalization to support for veterans, schools, hospitals, and recovery. The President promised that the state will support priority programs – those related to children, veterans, and infrastructure protection.
The Office of the President reported that Ukrainian authorities will soon hold consultations with the US to resume funding for humanitarian projects under the auspices of USAID. The Parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian Policy has already begun consultations with European colleagues on replacing USAID assistance. The suspension of funding from USAID has left approximately 33% of all GovTech projects in Ukraine unfunded, which will slow down the country’s digital transformation.
