The first delivery of coal from Poland arrives in Ukraine.
DTEK Energy has imported 40,000 tons of coal from Poland for the heating season and plans to import another 170,000 tons. At the same time, DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Saleyev emphasized that Ukrainian miners are currently extracting coal around the clock to ensure the stable operation of thermal power plants during the heating season.
“Ukrainian coal is priority #1 for us, evidenced by the investment of ₴7.4B in our coal enterprises this year,” he stated.
In addition, according to the company head, coal is being imported from abroad so that “in conditions of enemy shelling, we will be ready to support our colleagues if necessary.”
Since the end of September 625 additional wagons, or 38,000 tons, of fuel have already been delivered to the TPP. It is notable that DTEK Energy has commissioned 18 new coal mines through September and plans to launch nine more by the end of the year.
