It is planned to implement a series of such locks to improve Dnipro River logistics. This type of lock allows ships to save up to 8 hours in one pass. The saved time will allow the shipowner to make up to 10 trips a year and to transport up to 100 thousand tons per navigation. This is another step towards the development of water logistics, which should become a convenient alternative to road and rail transportation, said the Minister of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov. Next year, the draft budget will provide funding for such projects up to UAH 600 million ($22.5 mln)
