The European Union intends to quickly allocate a new tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine if the conditions of the previous macro-financial package are met, stated the Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis. This is additional macro-financial help in addition to the €1.2B that was approved earlier this year. He added that they are already planning to allocate additional financing this summer or fall. The EU plans were to prepare the next regular macro-financial assistance program. But the military build-up of Russian forces on Ukraine’s borders and the corresponding financial difficulties in Ukraine led to the decision to provide additional emergency macro-financial assistance.
