The package of large-scale sanctions that the EU is developing to deter Russia from further aggression against Ukraine will cover both personnel and economic, trade, and financial relations, stated Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis during his visit to Kyiv. Russia continues to gather troops on the border with Ukraine and in occupied Crimea, and this situation affects not only Ukraine but also the EU, as Russia undermines critical security principles, added Dombrovskis. He assures that the EU, NATO, and the United States would continue to support Ukraine to encourage Russia to de-escalate the situation, reported Interfax.
