The European Commission has stepped up its efforts and is working with its partners to provide emergency support for Ukraine to restore and maintain electricity and heat supplies. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that the EC is preparing an urgent delivery to Ukraine. The equipment to be provided includes 200 medium-sized transformers, a large autotransformer from Lithuania, a medium-sized autotransformer from Latvia, and 40 heavy generators from the rescEU reserve in Romania. The European Commission is also working on the creation of a new energy hub in Poland, which will allow for receiving donations from third parties and facilitate their coordinated delivery to Ukraine from the G7 partners.
