The EU and NATO have created a special group focused on critical infrastructure security.
The EU and NATO have created a working group to respond to various critical infrastructure threats, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said. According to her, the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines last year showed that it is necessary to be prepared to counter these new types of threats. For this purpose, the EU-NATO task force on the sustainability of critical infrastructure facilities is being created, von der Leyen added. Experts from the EU and the Alliance will work to identify key threats to critical infrastructure, study strategic factors of vulnerability, and develop key principles to improve resilience. The working group will also propose mitigation measures and measures to correct deficiencies in four sectors: transport, energy, digital, and space.
