The energy system is in poor condition and power outages may be be extended.
Ukraine’s power system is in a difficult situation, emergency power outages are ongoing in 10 regions, and recovery may take a long time, reported the state energy company, Ukrenergo. The operator notes that enemy drones have been trying to break into energy facilities throughout the country throughout the night. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces did their best to protect the energy infrastructure but were not fully able to prevent the enemy from achieving its goal. Unfortunately, there were several hits on infrastructure facilities, the state company said. Currently, state emergency service units are working to reverse the consequences of the attack. The most challenging situations are in the central, eastern, and Dnipro regions. Schedules for emergency power shutdowns have been introduced in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv regions, and the city of Kyiv.
