The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine has already accumulated €553M: How is the country preparing for the coming brutal winter?

Total contributions from international partners to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine amount to €553M. This year, a significant portion of the funds is directed to purchasing equipment for distributed generation, particularly cogeneration plants and gas turbines. Head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov said that the company is actively preparing for the coming winter, increasing gas production and its reserves and adapting its infrastructure to work in wartime conditions. Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko reminded Ukrainians about the tools that are available to help them prepare for the heating season. In particular, the expansion of the 5-7-9% soft loans program that can be utilized to purchase electric generators, uninterruptible power supply systems, solar panels, and other equipment for autonomous energy supply. Since the beginning of summer, 20 banks have agreed to lend ₴4.3B to entrepreneurs for projects designed to restore energy infrastructure and build alternative energy sources.
