The domestic cement industry is poised to meet the increasing demand during the forthcoming reconstruction efforts.

According to Pavlo Kachur, Chairman of the Ukrcement Association, five major cement companies are currently operating in the Ukrainian market, collectively covering nearly the entire country. The total production capacity of the domestic sector reaches 13.6 million tons annually, enough to satisfy local demand, particularly during the anticipated reconstruction phase. Even amid the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian cement sector has not only been able to sustain itself but also enhanced its capabilities thanks to the timely implementation of anti-dumping duties.
Furthermore, Ksenia Orynchak, Executive Director of the National Association of Mining Industries, pointed out that Ukraine has made noteworthy strides in attracting international investment in critical mineral extraction through an agreement with the US. Currently, only 1,500 of the 5,000 mineral deposits in Ukraine are being tapped for the construction industry. This highlights Ukraine’s potential to emerge as a major player in the strategic resources sector, underscoring the importance of maintaining equitable conditions for both domestic and foreign businesses.
