The Czech Republic launches the production of drones for Ukraine.
The Czech-Ukrainian company, UAC, near Kolin, began producing military drones exclusively for the Ukrainian army. The company plans to make hundreds of surveillance and attack drones every year. The machines are being constantly adapted to the Ukrainian military’s changing needs.
“We started trial operation in November, and in April, we started production. Our exclusive customer is the Ukrainian army,” commented UAC General Director Pavlo Bulant.
The company produces both the “Leleka” reconnaissance drone and the “Bulava” kamikaze drone. The latter can also be armed with armor-piercing charges that can penetrate up to 400 mm of armor or anti-personnel charges to destroy trenches or command posts.
UAC is a subsidiary of a private Ukrainian company of the same name from Dnipro, which has been developing and producing drones since 2014.
“In the future, we plan to win a key share of the Central European market in the category of medium drones and supply the armed forces of NATO countries and other states,” noted Stefan Füle from the UAC management.
