The Czech Republic and Slovakia will increase their support for Ukraine on its way to EU and NATO membership.
In a joint declaration, the presidents of Ukraine, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic have agreed that a sovereign, free, and democratic Ukraine is one of the critical factors in ensuring European security and stability. Slovakia and the Czech Republic are ready to facilitate new international security measures for Ukraine before it joins NATO and welcome Ukraine’s significant progress in moving toward the Alliance.
In addition, the countries confirmed their intention to strengthen joint efforts to ensure further progress in Ukraine’s implementation of EU and NATO standards on its way to membership in both organizations.
The Slovak and Czech Republics are ready to further support the dynamic process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU based on the progress of its reforms and the gradual integration of Ukraine into the politics and function of the EU.
