The US aims to finalize a peace agreement within the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency. US President Donald Trump stated that he does not regard the specifics of the upcoming peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia as crucial, provided it brings an end to the conflict. Trump emphasized that he is willing to endorse any solution that satisfies both parties.
“I just want the war to end. I don’t care. If both Zelenskyy and Putin are content, they can sign the agreement. I have no favorites,” Trump remarked, highlighting his intention to “make a deal” and “save lives.”
A senior European official indicated that the US is striving to secure a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine in the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency. Meanwhile, the White House expressed that Trump is dissatisfied with the slow progress of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
Additionally, spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt mentioned that President Zelenskyy is heading in the wrong direction regarding peace talks.
“President Trump is frustrated. His patience is wearing thin. We need both sides to be willing to conclude the war and make compromises,” Leavitt stated.
