The artillery initiative for Ukraine: How many countries have provided funds, when will deliveries begin, and why are they delayed?

So far, only four countries have contributed funds: Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Portugal. Luxembourg promised to contribute €5M yesterday. The Czech Republic is now calling on the allies who have already signed the relevant memoranda to make their promised financial contributions, allowing Czechia to continue procurement. The first ammunition is expected to arrive in Ukraine in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Czech company CSG, the largest ammunition supplier in Central Europe, explained that the delay in shipping shells to Ukraine is due to increased prices and the poor quality of the purchased components. The head of the company, Michal Strnad, clarified that about 50% of the parts purchased in African and Asian countries were of insufficient quality for immediate transfer to Ukraine, as they needed maintenance. Some of these shells had to be supplemented with components of our own production.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic reported that within the framework of the Czech initiative, the Ukrainian army will receive from 50,000 to 100,000 large-caliber projectiles every month.
