The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful counterattack near Avdiivka and liberated part of the territory of Bakhmut.

Following a successful counterattack, Ukrainian defenders advanced seven km from Avdiivka, in the Donetsk region.

The commander of the Ukrainian Azov tactical group, Andriy Biletsky, said that due to the  performance of the 3rd assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the divisions of the 72nd brigade of the Russian Federation were defeated. This brigade’s 6th and 8th companies were eliminated, and the brigade intelligence was broken.

A significant number of armored combat vehicles were destroyed, and a large number of occupants were captured. In addition, the 3rd Assault Squad of the Wagner PVK suffered heavy losses. According to Mykola Volokhov, the commander of the Terra reconnaissance unit,  part of the Azov tactical group, the Armed Forces liberated more than two kilometers of Bakhmut.
