The 2024 harvest is significantly faster than last year’s pace; 75% of the early crops have already been harvested.
In Ukraine, 75% of early crops have already been harvested, from which they expect 27 million tons of grain and about four million tons of rapeseed, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy reported. It is noted that as of July 29, about 20 million tons of early grain has been harvested. On the same date last year, this figure was 11 million tons, so the pace is significantly faster.
Taking into consideration that about 9-10 million tons of grain are traditionally consumed annually in Ukraine’s domestic market, 60-65% of these harvested products will be exported.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy added that early collection is favorable for farmers, as they can sell their products earlier and use the funds to purchase fuel, other materials, and technical resources in preparation for autumn fieldwork. Because of Ukraine’s ability to export goods by sea through the grain corridor, farmers do not have a surplus of transitional stocks from previous years.
