Tax revenue from tourism increased in 10 regions of Ukraine.
According to the State Tourism Development Agency, which analyzed income taxes in the first quarter of this year, the largest increase was recorded in the Chernivtsi region, with 98%. Hotels in the area paid UAH 5.1M compared to UAH 2.6M for the same period in 2022. Rivne region hotels paid UAH 3.4M in tax, which is 17% higher than the figure for 2022.
The Lviv region became the leader in tax revenue with UAH 60.4M, 16% more than in 2022. The Zhytomyr region paid 16% more taxes, and Transcarpathia showed an increase of 15%.
Tax revenues from tourist facilities in the Khmelnytsky region have increased by 4% since the beginning of the year, and the Dnipropetrovsk region also paid 4% more taxes. The Volyn region recorded a slight 2% increase in revenue, and the Vinnytsia region paid almost the same amount as in 2022 with UAH 4.4M.
The biggest declines were recorded in six areas where there are active hostilities.
