With car traffic backing up at Kyiv’s five cross-Dnipro bridges, work is planned to expand the 1953 Paton bridge from seven lanes to eight and to add bicycle lanes in each direction , reports the Center for Transportation Strategies. In May, the Kyiv City State Administration also approved the first major renovation of the Metro road-rail bridge since it was built in 1965.
