Sweden will provide Ukraine with $7B in military support over three years.
The government of Sweden has reached an agreement with the pro-government party, Sweden Democrats on a program that will provide a total of SEK 75B ($7.01B) in additional military support to Ukraine over three years. The funds will be distributed evenly on an annual basis for 2024-2026 in three payments of SEK 25B (over $2.3B). With this program, Sweden’s total military and civilian support to Ukraine will amount to over SEK 100B (over $9.3B).
It is noted that military aid to Ukraine will be provided through the transfer of donated defense equipment, financial contributions, and financial support to purchase defense equipment.
“Support to Ukraine is carried out in such a way as not to undermine the development of Sweden’s defense potential and not to harm other necessary reforms,” the Swedish government emphasized.
It will be recalled that the Commander-in-Chief of Sweden’s Armed Forces believes that Putin wants to take control of the Swedish island of Gotland.
