Stoltenberg calls on NATO countries to provide Ukraine with €500M in comprehensive support annually.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg insists that the members of the Alliance increase contributions to the fund for the comprehensive package of assistance to Ukraine. This package includes short-term aid such as fuel, ammunition, and anti-drone systems, and long-term support for Ukraine to fully modernize the Ukrainian army to NATO standards.
According to Bloomberg, the fund is primarily concerned with non-lethal weapons. However, taking into account that the global stockpiles of Soviet-style armaments are running out, then switching to NATO standards may automatically open the possibility of supplying lethal modern weapons, as was the decision to start supplying Ukraine with 155-caliber artillery.
