Russia’s attacks on Odesa will reduce grain exports by three million tons.
The attacks on the area’s infrastructure, particularly near the port, may reduce the export of Ukrainian grain in April from eight to five million tons.
“During the first 10 days of April, Ukraine exported about two million tons of grain through the ports. This made it possible to hit a record monthly export of eight million tons. However, the damage is so significant that grain deliveries to the port of Chornomorsk will have to be suspended for several days”, said grain market participants.
However, Ukraine will not stop grain exports through the Black Sea Corridor under any conditions. It is being emphasized that traders and agricultural holdings, whose terminals are in the port of Chornomorsk, will be able to promptly adapt to the situation and deliver their products for loading onto ships by road transport.
In addition, during the shelling of the Odesa region, Russian forces damaged the railway access roads to several grain terminals located in the port of Chornomorsk, which may lead to temporary disruptions in the delivery of products to the terminals of several agricultural holdings.
