Russia will launch a new offensive after Putin’s re-election in March and prepare for conflict with NATO over the next decade,
said the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell. Therefore, he called for an urgent increase in support for Ukraine. Borrell emphasized that EU member states should work with their defense enterprises to revise contracts and prioritize the supply of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine.
“We must do more and do it faster,” the head of European diplomacy emphasized.
Currently, the Russian Federation is trying to capture Avdiivka, a vital Ukrainian stronghold in the Donetsk region. The new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, ordered the best-prepared military reserves to the hot spot.
Meanwhile, the head of Estonian intelligence, Kaupo Rosin, said Russia is preparing for a military conflict with the West in the next decade. The assessment is based on Russia’s plans to double the number of troops on the border with Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.
