Russia has proposed new conditions for ending the war and accused the US and Ukraine of prolonging peace talks.

To end the conflict, Russia demands Ukrainian authorities stop training soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Western countries.

“The participation or complicity of other countries in the military conflict is a key point that must be stopped. Both in the form of supplying weapons and in the form of training Ukrainian militants. A demonstration of a desire to resolve the conflict is the termination of these programs,” said Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnyk.

Over 200,000 Ukrainian soldiers have already completed training in the West. Russia has called such programs “hostile” toward Russia.

Earlier, Russian officials stated that as part of a peaceful settlement, they would demand Ukraine relinquish weapons supplied by the West, cut the size of its military, recognize the annexation of Crimea and four regions, and withdraw troops. The Kremlin also urges Kyiv to stay out of military alliances and coalitions.

Recently, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the progress of Ukraine peace talks depends on Kyiv’s stance and US mediation.

US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg responded, saying: “Russian allegations that it is the US and Ukraine that are hindering peace talks are groundless.”
