Russia has not yet felt the impact: Kyiv must continue attacks on Russian refineries.
In the evening of April 24 in the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation, following several drone attacks, fire broke out at fuel and energy facilities after several explosions, the governor of the region reported.
The Ukraine Security Service confirmed the attack on two Rosneft oil depots in the Smolensk region, where the Russians had stored 26,000 cubic meters of fuel.
ISW analysts estimate that Ukrainian drone attacks and recent flooding have reduced weekly Russian oil refining to an 11-month low. However, this indicator is still not critical for the economy of the aggressor country. In addition, reducing primary oil refining will increase the volume of crude oil exports.
“Future Ukrainian drone strikes could disable even more Russian refining capacity and cause critical refining constraints that will begin to significantly affect Russia’s distillate production. However, so far, such strikes have not significantly impacted refining or domestic Russian or international crude supplies oil and distillates”, experts summarized.
