Russia has conducted its fourth major attack on Ukraine this year, using 215 missiles and drones.

On the night of April 24, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian cities with 70 missiles and 145 UAVs. Powerful explosions echoed through Kyiv and Kharkiv. At least 12 people were killed in the capital, with another 90 injured. In Kharkiv, the attack damaged a manufacturer of commercial equipment – UBC Promo. Railway infrastructure was also impacted in Kyiv and the Kharkiv region.
This marks the fourth major shelling of Ukraine in the first four months of the year, with the most extensive occurring on March 7, when Russia deployed 261 air attack vehicles. Because of the attack, President Zelenskyy had to cut short his visit to South Africa and return to Ukraine. He also directed the Minister of Defense to reach out to Ukraine’s allies regarding enhancing the country’s air defenses. In this context, the Foreign Ministry stated that it is Russia, not Ukraine, that poses an obstacle to peace, asserting that pressure should be directed toward Moscow, not Kyiv.
“With his actions, Putin shows that he disregards any peace efforts and aims only to sustain the war. Weakness and concessions will not halt his terror and aggression,” added Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
