Russia has already destroyed 9.2 GW of Ukrainian power generation; the state will work on creating an alternative.
Due to the missile attacks over the last few days, Russia has destroyed 9.2 GW of Ukrainian power generation, noted EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova.
In turn, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced that the Cabinet of Ministers will work on creating an alternative generation solution in Ukraine. In particular, at a relevant meeting the government considered the possibility of canceling import duty and value-added tax on all energy equipment and its components and simplifying customs procedures for its import.
Shmyhal also added that the government is working on decentralizing Ukraine’s energy system. For this purpose, they plan to import additional diesel generators, cogeneration units, and mobile boiler houses.
“The Ministry of Energy, along with partners, is also tasked with working out issues related to the installation of gas piston installations in each regional center,” the Prime Minister noted.
