The largest German defense concern, Rheinmetall, received a €142M order to supply Ukraine with artillery shells. The order, from a NATO partner country, includes tens of thousands of 155 mm artillery shells. They will be produced by Rheinmetall Expal Munitions and delivered in 2025. However, the production and delivery of about 40,000 shells to Ukraine from a pre-order should occur in 2024.
Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced that Ukraine has started producing six self-propelled Bohdana artillery units per month. Also, partners have transferred missiles to existing air defense systems and new, modern anti-aircraft missile complexes.
