Retail trade during the first quarter was up 7.5% yoy

compared to January-March 2020, according to the State Statistics Service. Retail grew the fastest in: Kyiv Region + 14.6%; Chernivtsi +13.7%; and Vinnytsia +12.5%. Last year, retail grew 8.4% nationwide, compared to 2019. With coronavirus quarantines closing stores for most of April in about half of the country, retail growth is expected to drop in the second quarter.
