Recovery and the country’s development: Why does Ukraine invest in human capital?

During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome, the Olena Zelenska Foundation announced a new project called Youth Spaces 12-21, focused on psychosocial support for young people. It aims to create barrier-free, accessible youth spaces where adolescents and young adults can access free and confidential individual or group psychosocial support, career counseling, and quality leisure activities. The target audience for the project is adolescents and young people aged 12 to 21, the foundation’s press service told UBN.

The project was made possible thanks to its first strategic partner, The Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. This year, the foundation plans to open the first five spaces across five regions of Ukraine. The overall goal is to establish such spaces in every region of the country.

The Olena Zelenska Foundation, founded by Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska in 2022, is a Ukrainian charitable organization that implements projects for children, adolescents, and youth. Amid the ongoing full-scale war, more than 70 partners from over 30 countries have joined the foundation’s initiatives.
