Putin will demand Ukraine abandon NATO membership in talks with Trump.
Putin will insist on a radical reduction in Kyiv’s military cooperation with NATO and an irreversible withdrawal from membership in the bloc in upcoming talks with US President-elect Donald Trump regarding Ukraine.
As reported by Bloomberg, Putin is confident that he has an advantage on the battlefield and is therefore determined to achieve “the transformation of Ukraine into a neutral state with limited armed forces.” The Kremlin’s position is that NATO member states can continue to individually supply weapons to Ukraine, but their weapons should not be used against Russia or in attempts to regain lost territories. Putin will also demand that Russia retain control over 20% of the Ukrainian territory that the enemy has seized during the three years of war.
Moscow is also ready for a territorial exchange, as hundreds of square kilometers in the Kursk region remain under Ukrainian military control.
