Production and trade of fuel, alcohol, and tobacco were taken under licensing control.
The government included the production and trade of alcohol, tobacco, and fuel in the list of businesses that, under martial law, cannot start operations based on the principles of declaration. From now on, they can be conducted only upon the basis of a license, the Ministry of Economy reported. This will make it possible to strengthen control over the circulation of liquid, excisable goods of strategic importance for the state – alcohol and fuel. Economy Minister Yuliya Svyridenko noted that this decision is not a rule, but rather an exception and the government will continue implementing its deregulation policy. The production and trade of ethyl alcohol, brandy and fruit alcohol, grain distillate, and bioethanol now come under licensing control. In addition to the production and trade of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and liquids used in electronic cigarettes are also included in the licensing measure. Moreover, the decision also applies to the production, trade, and storage of fuel.
