Poland will increase the ammunition production for the Armed Forces, and the EU demands immediate transfer to Ukraine.
Polish state and private enterprises of the military-industrial complex will increase the production of ammunition, which will go to both the Polish army and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki said.
He clarified that the Council of Ministers will soon adopt a long-term program supporting ammunition production in various parts of the country. At the same time, he added that the EU program to transfer one million shells to Ukraine by the end of the year is “very ambitious”. The Prime Minister emphasized that with the help of EU funds, Poland can increase its production many times.
However, the European Commissioner, Thierry Breton, insists that EU countries give Ukraine ammunition from their warehouses, primarily 155 mm caliber, as soon as possible.
