After the assassination attempt, Trump left no chance for Biden team to win.
An attempt to assassinate Donald Trump over the weekend has drastically changed the dynamics of the US presidential campaign. As I have previously mentioned, I was watching Donald Trump in 2016 when I realized his strategy, which was to do everything it took to draw voter attention to himself, regardless of whether a voter supported him or not. You all might remember how he insulted Mexicans, calling them drug traffickers, and his graphic and profane descriptions of women. He used so many insulting words toward certain groups of people to generate anger and outrage, most importantly, grab attention. Later, he changed his wording and found a gentler approach with his voters.
Now, the Republican candidate is using the same tactics, but with a slight twist. All of his law suits, scandals, and appearances in courts, news, and television have made him the most searched, read, and quoted politician in America. This is what we call increasing your brand awareness. Why it all matters to us, Ukrainians, is because the US elections will change many things in Ukraine, and most importantly, the war and how it will come to an end.
On top of all Donald Trump’s trickery, this assassination attempt will make the Republican candidate a hero who he wants to “Make America Great Again” and advance the narrative of how he fights against the dark forces that want to derail his essential mission to save the country. Trump’s popularity has jumped significantly, even higher than it was after dominating the debate with Joe Biden. The Democrats are in a very challenging position and must immediately decide what to do with Biden’s candidacy and how to improve the current situation.
I can confidently say that if the chances of Trump becoming the next president were good before the shooting, they are even better now. This time, the Democrats have to come up with something outrageous to draw attention from Trump, but finding a way to do so will be very difficult. So now, Ukraine must find a way to start building a good relationship with Donald Trump to ensure that when he becomes president he will treat us like an equal partner and not like a freshly butchered piece of meat.
