One of Ukraine’s largest agricultural holdings increased its sugar exports by 400%, increasing profit by €20M.

In the first nine months of 2024, Astarta agroholding increased revenue by 13%, to €441M, and profit by €20M (+35%), to €75.6M. Revenue from sugar production increased by 19% to €169M. The volume of sugar exports increased by 400%, to 140,000 tons, thanks to trade with European Union countries, the Middle East and North Africa.

Exports of sugar and processed products provided 50% of the segment’s revenue versus 17% in the first nine months of last year. Agriculture generated 33% of Astarta’s revenue, or €146M (+28%). Revenue from soybean processing decreased by 17%, to €77M, which accounted for 17% of Astarta’s consolidated revenue. Revenue from livestock farming increased by 22%, to €37M, compared to the same period last year. The share of exports reached 64% of consolidated revenue, or €283M, compared to 46% last year.
