One of the largest agricultural holdings is investing $10M in a new grain terminal on the Danube.

Kernel plans to build a new transshipment terminal, Development Reni Terminal, in the port Reni on the Danube by the end of 2023. The company reported that the terminal will be built on a plot of land it has leased for 49 years. The agri-holding plans to use about $10M of its own funds to implement the project from scratch.

The terminal will receive about 100 trucks and 50 tankers per day. The capacity of shipping grain or meal on river transport will be up to 8 thousand tons daily, and up to 4,000 tons of sunflower oil per day.

The simultaneous loading front will be designed for two river vessels. It is expected that with the stable operation of the Black Sea Grain Corridor, the Danube assets will help Kernel increase exports to 600,000 tons per year.
