The Polyana community in Zakarpattia has signed agreements with 16 surrounding communities to establish a garbage sorting plant. The amount of construction investment is €12M, €9M of which will be supplied by German investors, and another €3M that should come through a subvention for socio-economic development. The future plant should process about 60 thousand tons of waste per year and employ 80 people, according to preliminary estimates. The plant is to produce about 3,000 tons of fuel for industrial furnaces from plastic, and German companies will immediately buy the fuel briquettes that will be produced, paying all necessary payments at Ukrainian customs, reported decentralization.gov.ua.
