On the anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity, US President Joe Biden arrived in Kyiv and announced a new aid package.
On February 20, Ukraine commemorates the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. The date is the most tragic in the history of the Revolution of Dignity, as it was the day that the most activists died on the Maidan in 2014. And it was on this date that President Biden visited the Ukrainian capital. He informed President Zelenskyy that Ukraine will receive a new military aid package from the US. It will include artillery ammunition, anti-tank systems, and air surveillance radars. In addition, this week the US will announce additional sanctions against elites and companies that try to evade anti-Russian sanctions or help Russia’s war machine. Biden visited Kyiv on the eve of the anniversary of the Russian invasion to reaffirm Ukraine’s steadfast commitment to democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The same day, Biden departed Kyiv for Poland to meet Polish President Andrzej Duda and other allies from NATO’s eastern flank.
