Officials identify the main topics of the Ukraine-EU summit on February 3 in Kyiv.
At the event, the military situation, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s peace plan, and the support of Ukraine from its partners will be discussed, said Matti Maasikas, the EU’s ambassador to Ukraine. He specified that delays currently exist in providing aid to Ukraine in the military, economic, financial, humanitarian, and energy spheres. In addition, Brussels plans to discuss Ukraine’s progress in working on EU recommendations related to granting candidate status for EU membership. The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European Integration, Olga Stefanishyna, noted that Ukraine’s next steps in preparation for accession negotiations and the EU’s steps to prepare Ukraine for membership will be announced at the summit. Political reforms, macro-financial assistance, and preservation of all economic preferences will also be discussed. Moreover, the participants will discuss the future reconstruction of the country.
