Official unemployment in Ukraine has reached a low level.
Tuesday, December 27, 2022
As of December 26, 2022, 191,000 unemployed people were officially registered in Ukraine. Over the last month, the number of unemployed has decreased by 32,000, the Tax Committee of the Parliament reported. However, it is noted that in reality these numbers do not reflect an accurate picture. The following factors influence data on the official level of unemployment: unemployment benefits are currently paid for only 90 days, the balance of departures abroad has again been negative since October – more people are leaving, and men must bring documents from the Military Commissariat before registering for unemployment. Therefore, now 77% of registered unemployed are women.
