NATO believes that Ukraine will not be able to liberate all its territory by the end of 2024.
According to a NATO official, Russia should not be underestimated, and Ukraine will not be able to completely expel Russian troops from its territory by the end of next year.
“Russia has amassed a large missile arsenal on the eve of winter, and we see new attempts to strike the energy grid and energy infrastructure of Ukraine,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
Kyiv’s Western allies have given their assurance that financial and military support for Ukraine will not decrease, although the war in the Middle East has diverted some of their attention.
For his part, Stoltenberg emphasized that Vladimir Putin shows no signs of fatigue. Putin is not too concerned about the loss of 300,000 people and has a large stockpile of missiles ahead of winter. Moscow is looking for any means to stay the course on the battlefield in Ukraine.
“However, Russia is becoming much more dependent on China. Moscow bets its future on Beijing year after year,” he added.
