Military aid: Europeans step up support for Ukraine amid Trump’s actions.

The EU is preparing a new €20B military aid package for Ukraine amid US President Trump’s attempts to reach a quick peace settlement with Russia. The funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, including the supply of artillery shells, air defense systems, long-range missiles, and UAVs.

Estonia has sent 10,000 artillery shells and 750,000 food kits to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is also preparing to transfer more than €100M worth of products produced by its defense industry.

However, the transfer of the first of 30 Belgian F-16 aircraft to Kyiv has been postponed until the end of the year due to a delay in delivery of Belgium’s US-supplied F-35 fighters. Ukraine expects to receive additional aircraft from the Netherlands this year that will help to protect Ukrainian skies.

Sweden has prepared its 18th package of defense support for Ukrainian military, the content of which has not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has stopped the sale of American weapons to Ukraine. Because of this, the defense ministers from 10 European countries, as well as EU and NATO representatives, will discuss ways to strengthen support for Ukraine on February 24.
