Lithuania is investing €20M in Ukraine’s defense industry, and a Norwegian missile manufacturer will launch a joint venture in Ukraine.


Lithuania is dedicating €20M to developing the Ukrainian defense sector and has initiated the establishment of joint weapon production facilities. The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense announced plans to maintain active support for Ukraine by investing in its defense industry, which has tremendous potential to emerge as a world-class player due to its high level of expertise obtained through direct combat experience.
Norwegian Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace manufactures missiles for NASAMS air defense systems, and is collaborating with Ukrainian industrialists to establish a joint production facility in Ukraine. The primary goal is to enhance the production of air defense missiles within Ukraine by leveraging Ukrainian technologies. This initiative involves producing hundreds of missiles, and may commence within a few months. Specifically, Kongsberg aims to harness the strengths of Ukrainian industry, anticipating that after the war Ukraine could be integrated into the global missile supply chain for air defense systems.
