Latvia will send Ukraine 1,500 drones, and Germany will provide an additional €11.25B military assistance package.


As part of a Latvian support package, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 1,500 new combat drones. In total, two Latvian companies will deliver 12,000 drones to Ukraine worth €17M in the first half of this year, as part of the international drone coalition.
Simultaneously, the German Foreign Ministry confirmed an additional military assistance package for Ukraine worth €11.25B. Berlin emphasized that support for Kyiv will continue, despite the upcoming change in the German government. Accordingly, Germany will allocate €3B for short-term Ukrainian support and provide another €8.25B for military assistance through 2028.
Following a meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, President Zelenskyy clarified that Germany remains one of Ukraine’s key donors. This year, the total amount of German aid will reach €7B. Since the start of the full-scale war, Germany has provided Ukraine with over €43B, of which €15B was designated for military needs.
