Kyiv is hoping to receive Patriot air defense systems and permission to strike targets in Russia using US weapons.

Ukraine’s ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, hopes for “bold decisions” from the US in anticipation of receiving the much-needed Patriot air defense system to protect Ukraine from Russian air attacks.

In an interview with CBS News, Markarova emphasized that “the time has come when everyone should give us a little of their own”.

The ambassador also explained that Ukrainian troops are waging a defensive war, so they should have the right to hit their opponent with weapons in those places from where the aggressor carries out their attacks.

In this context, the head of the committee on foreign affairs of the French parliament called on Paris to lift the moratorium on Ukraine striking Russian territory with French weapons.
