Kyiv and Paris have agreed to deepen their strategic cooperation and establish a €200M fund for Ukraine’s infrastructure and economy.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said that during French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot’s visit to Kyiv, they discussed cooperation in defense, finance, reconstruction, and sanctions policy.
“Our French colleagues saw how Kyiv is living after the night attacks. And this greatly intensifies the conversation about drones, air defense, and fighter jets which Ukraine needs right now. So, one of the topics is increasing military assistance and the transition to joint production in Ukraine,” she emphasized.
Svyrydenko noted that Ukraine and France signed two significant declarations. The first establishes a new €200M fund to support Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and economy starting in 2026. Demand for the previous program exceeded the budget by 200%, showing strong interest from businesses in both countries for joint projects.
The second declaration involves preparing an intergovernmental agreement on strategic cooperation in defense, energy, digitalization, and critical mineral sectors. This includes not only investment but also technology exchange, cooperation, and expanded access to EU markets.
