Kurt Volker is convinced that the US will approve the Ukrainian aid package in April.

$61B in US aid to Ukraine will be approved in April, according to American diplomat and former special representative of the US State Department for Ukraine Kurt Volker. He noted that the Speaker of the House of Representatives recently voiced three options to help allocate aid for Ukraine.

“One of them is confiscating Russian assets, which are currently frozen. The second is lifting restrictions on importing liquefied natural gas from the US, making it possible to lower commercial prices for energy carriers and compete with Russian gas. The third is that part of the aid can be provided to Ukraine through loans, not only grants,” Volker clarified.

In particular, this may translate to $45B in military aid in the form of a grant and $16B in economic aid in the form of a loan.

In turn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that if the US Congress does not provide funds to Ukraine, then Kyiv will lose the war, and other countries will be at risk.
