Kallas is disappointed by the 50-day deadline for Russia, and Trump hints at strikes on Moscow.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas welcomed Donald Trump’s tougher stance on Russia but said the 50-day ultimatum was “too long” given that Russia is killing civilians in Ukraine every day. Meanwhile, Donald Trump asked his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy why Ukraine was not striking the Russian capital. “We can (strike) if you give us weapons,” Zelenskyy replied.
Trump, in turn, said that it was necessary to put pressure on Putin, but not only by striking at Moscow, but also at St. Petersburg.
In Russia, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called Rutte’s statement about the Russian delegation’s lack of seriousness at the talks in Istanbul and his criticism of the head of the delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, “abracadabra”.
And Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called Trump’s statement about a 50-day deadline for concluding a peace agreement with Ukraine a “theatrical ultimatum”, which according to him, Russia doesn’t care about. Later, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Trump’s statement “very serious” and said that its analysis would take time.
