Japan has approved a new package of sanctions against Russia and Belarus

amid the Russian-Ukrainian war, which includes blocking the assets of 32 people and companies and banning the export of oil refining equipment and technology. Japan will continue to impose sanctions on Russia and Belarus over the invasion of Ukraine and freeze the assets of government officials and other organizations. As Russia intensifies its attacks on Ukraine with Belarus, which is “obviously involved,” Japan will ban the export of oil refining equipment to Russia and dual-use items to Belarus. These dual-use items are technologies that can be used in the defense industry.
